Kyle Kavanaugh has been pairing retailers and restaurants with real estate since 1987. Early in his career he was an agent with Lee and Associates in San Diego and was employed as an in house Corporate Real Estate Manager for Blockbuster Entertainment Group. In that residence, he oversaw site selection in Southern California.

In 1994, Kyle founded Main+Main Inc. to expand his scope and to manifest his philosophy that partnership, coupled with industry knowledge, begets success… and success attracts top professionals. On that notion, he cultivated a team of leading agents in dynamic markets and set out to systematically extend the reach of retail real estate programs throughout North America. Examining Main+Main’s client base reflects that he has succeeded in that effort.

Today, Main+Main has gathered some of the highest-performing associates in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Orange County. It boasts an exclusive client list of 40+ established and nascent brands, predominantly in the Retail and Food & Beverage category. As the founding partner, Kyle is the primary guidance of the group and assists many of its clients with real estate expansion and development.

Veronique Collin Veronique Collin joined Main & Main in 2023, where she is focused on partnering up with retailers and restauranteurs to strategically craft their expansion plans both locally and nationally. She began her career in real estate as a developer in 2002, gaining, valuable first-hand knowledge of the development and management of commercial properties. She later moved into the transaction side of the business earning her broker’s license and specializing in landlord and tenant representation as well as investment sales.

When representing a landlord, Veronique creates a strategic marketing plan and identifies the ideal tenant mix which resonates with the property and community and in turn creates long term value for the both the landlord and tenant. She’s passionate about helping her clients grow whether they’re national tenants or emerging brands.

Peter Moersch is a recognized expert in leasing, tenant representation and management. He brings a complete set of retail real estate skills to the position. He arrived at Main + Main Inc. after serving in a national capacity as the SVP of Leasing for Pacific Retail Capital Partners where he oversaw the repositioning of nearly 30 Million square feet of regional centers. Prior to that, in his role as the Vice President of Leasing for the Irvine Company’s 39-center neighborhood and community center portfolio, Peter managed a team of senior Leasing Directors responsible for the implementation of the company’s leasing and merchandising strategies and was able to achieve consistent growth across 5 million square feet of retail properties of sales, occupancy and rent. Prior to joining the Irvine Company, he spent 18 years with CBRE. He had a wealth of experience in retail project development, acquisition, planning, governmental approvals and marketing. He has utilized these skills working with clients such as Regency Centers, DDR, and Lewis Retail and has represented top retailers including Target Stores and Century Theaters. Mr. Moersch is a graduate of University of Southern California, loves live music and is an avid skier when snow permits.

John Rootlieb is true blue in every sense: a Laguna Beach native, a bodysurfer, a career Broker.

Armed with an interest in international culinary discovery and his UCLA degree, John joined the sales team at Fox Sports Net West in 1999. The spike in sales revenue under his purview, along with new-client acquisitions, garnered attention. By 2001, he was tapped to be Sports Marketing Manager at Professional Sports Publications. But, it wasn’t his calling. In 2003, John moved to Main + Main.

From the beginning, John took to Commercial Real Estate like a dolphin to water. Today he is a prolific and highly effective Partner, expanding developing enterprises throughout Southern California, Hawaii, and Nevada. To bookend his expertise in marketing and retail expansion, John joined the Summerlin Mall Landlord-Rep Team, assisting in leasing 1.6 million square feet of retail space. He is a shining star within Chick-Fil-A, helping the company expand throughout Southern California.

John is definitely a team player. But on most teams, he is the star.

Jeff Straka is a seasoned retail real estate professional with 28 years of experience in both corporate and brokerage roles.

Prior to landing at Main + Main, Jeff was Founding Partner of Golden State Retail Group Inc., the Southern California based tenant representation firm that partnered with a number of best in class retailers, restaurants and fitness concepts, such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Total Wine & More, The Vitamin Shoppe, America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, Blaze Pizza, and Orangetheory Fitness, just to name a few.

Jeff also had previous successful brokerage roles with SRS Real Estate Partners and Retail Select Services, both in Southern California.

Jeff’s successful tenant advisory and representation career is clearly attributed to his strong background in corporate retail real estate, where he held key in-house positions with a number of high growth national retailers. These included The Vitamin Shoppe, Starbucks Coffee, and Kinko’s.

Debra Hoppe joined Main + Main in the early Spring of 2020 bringing significant business experience and an extensive record of accomplishments to the team. As a focused and highly driven professional with a strong skillset in corporate strategy, she is well versed in project management, contract negotiations, and commercial marketing.

For over 10 years, Debra has been a successful retail business owner/operator who was integrally involved in business development, staff management and media marketing.  Currently working with new concept restaurateurs and specialty retailers in the Southern California market, she continues to expand her industry expertise and market knowledge.

Tyson Youngs is a native San Diegan who joined our Main + Main team in 2018. After earning his political science degree, co-founding the Real Estate Club, playing Division 1 baseball, running track at College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts, and a short stint in New York City, he decided to return to his home in San Diego. Since joining Main + Main, Tyson has focused his energy on becoming an expert in restaurant leasing on both the Landlord and Tenant side of transactions. While guiding new to market retailers and creating restaurant expansion plans is his bread and butter, he also has experience in acquisitions – – locating and brokering deals for developers and national hospitality groups. His innate ability to communicate effectively, coupled with an intimate understanding of his hometown and it’s locals makes him a tremendous asset to his clients and the team!

Mike Clark has a unique pedigree: 20 years of Commercial Real Estate experience. While BRE ultimately became Cushman & Wakefield, Mike remained sharpening his niche. Today, he is one of a rarified group of top retail producers in the San Diego market specializing in new-to-market clients retailers, corporate strategy, and retail/restaurant expansions. And his knack for identifying and maximizing off-market opportunities is unparalleled.

Mike has achieved impressive goals for clients like Carl’s Jr., Habit Burger, Buca di Beppo, and Urbane Cafe, as well as retailers, developers and landlords. And the accolades have followed: he was Costar Power Broker in 2009, 2010, and 2012; San Diego ICSC Chair from 2008-2011 with 11 years active committee involvement; and a member of the Leadership Development Group.

His move to Main + Main in 2016 heralds a growth opportunity for Mike, even at his level.

Lori Smith Lori Smith manages all operational functions of Main + Main Inc. including the development and execution of the marketing strategies. With degrees in both Political Science and Communication, her versatility and expertise supports the team in expanding business and increasing the company’s CRE brand awareness in the restaurant, retail and entertainment space.

Prior to joining Main + Main in 2018, she spent 17 years as the international marketing and event director for the Fluor Corporation generating business growth in both established and emerging markets.

Joe Tavormina began his career in commercial real estate in the Northeast and relocated to Southern California in the 1990. He has numerous years of experience as a Senior Director of Development and Director of Real Estate for Acapulco Mexican Restaurants, Prandium, Retail Net Lease Properties, and Darden.

Joe joined Main + Main, Inc. in 2011 as a Director of Brokerage & Consulting Services for over 10 clients along with landlord representation for Continental Development, DJM and Downtown Summerlin. He has provided sophisticated brokerage and consulting services to retailers, grocery stores, restaurant chains and property owners nationwide.

He relocated to Asheville NC in 2017 and in June of 2022 moved back to the Bay Area rejoining the Main + Main, Inc. Team.

Campbell began working full time with Main + Main in the summer of 2023 after his graduation from Texas Christian University (TCU), where he majored in Finance with a focus on Real Estate all while competing in high level golf tournaments. With a steadfast commitment to gaining practical experience, he completed multiple high-impact internships in Dallas and Fort Worth. These experiences helped him hone his skills and ignited his passion for the industry.

Campbell’s connection with Main + Main Inc. began as an Intern last summer, where he made substantial contributions that didn’t go unnoticed. His dedication and skill set paved the way for a well-deserved full-time position within our team.

Kelley Maher is a seasoned leasing professional with over 30 years of deal making experience and over 1,000 leases consummated on behalf of her clients. She has enjoyed working coast to coast for some of the most respected and progressive companies in the retail realm. Clients have included Fortune 500 Companies, Financial Institutions and Pension Funds to lease all disciplines of retail from small boutique retailers in neighborhood centers to department stores in regional malls. Kelley is a team player, collectively strategizing to establish merchandising plans, promotions and budgets to accomplish the goals of leasing to occupiers that create synergy with the overall mix and traffic drivers to a center.
